Lead-free high-voltage diode*1 using lead-free high-temperature solder for inter-chip connection

Hitachi Power Device has commercialized high-voltage diode, which made lead-free high-temperature solder, suitable for automobile ignition coils.

With the RoHS directive enforced in Europe triggered the development of "lead-free" shifting to lead-free solder has been promoted.

However, in high-voltage diodes used for automobiles, etc., since the junction becomes high temperature at the time of product use, lead-free soldering has a high technical hurdle such as securing heat resistance / reliability and is still RoHS exempt.

However, since it is expected that the exclusion of application exclusion to high-temperature solder is expected, we have worked on lead free from the early days, developed bonding technology of lead-free high-temperature solder.

Lead free high-voltage diode is already shipped to leading manufacturer of ignition coil and mass-produced.

As a countermeasure for ELV / RoHS, a high-voltage diode using lead-free high-temperature solder for high-temperature solder for inter-chip connection.
